 29 March 2014
Burma Times: Buthidaung- It is reported by our senior correspondent that today on Saturday, 29 March, 2014, at about 10:00 am, the Burmese authorities—village administration, township administration, district administration, state administration, army, police, executive of census enumerators from Buthidaung and paramilitary forces— held an exclusive meeting with Rohingya elders at middle school in Paungdaw Pyin from Buthidaung Township and strictly warned Rohingya elders to strongly  avoid writing in Rohingya except Bengali during census conduct.
When Rohingya elders at once responded that they will write in Rohingya since their ethnicity is Rohingya. Then, the authorities threatened those will be prosecuted who disobey our prior warnings after conclusion census conduct. They stated that the order to avoid writing in Rohingya is from central government ( Naypyidaw administration).
The ground reporters of Burma Times reported that  more meetings regarding as mentioned above are being held in several places in Buthidaung and Maungdaw Township.
Apparently, the prior warnings against those who writes in Rohingya in the code 914 issued by Burmese  ministry of immigration and population  is the plot of the administration of president Thein Sein who plays paradoxically with international community. Burmese government vowed UNFPA that the census will be conducted according to internationally standardized census, on the other hand, foreign aid workers are expelled in Sittwe by state-backed Rakhine Buddhist extremists and authorities deliver prior warnings to avoid writing in Rohingya except Bengali in the code 914.
The main intention to expel the foreign aid workers from Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine state, is to hide the violence which will be carried out against Rohingya during census conduct, said by a Rohingya senior teacher.
