Muslim students attending Sittwe University and Tounggup College, who
were from Thandwe, Kyaukphyu and Ramree (Kyauk Ni Maw Village), were
facing difficulties to continue their studies.
Over 130
students did not carry on their study in those universities now. They
were ordered to move to universities and colleges in Yangon. Thus, they
faced many challenges. Their parents could not afford to support higher
cost of living expense, they had to change their majors and they had a
lot of trouble with food and accommodation in Yangon.
